Request and challenge
A customer was organizing an afternoon milestone-birthday gathering at a restaurant in Tokyo’s Roppongi area during the New Year holiday. They wanted à-la-carte dining and enough time for the group to spend together, ideally beyond the usual two-hour table allocation. The holiday timing made it important to understand the venue’s operating arrangements. Before finalizing the celebration, they needed to know when reservations would open and whether a longer stay could fit the seating arrangements.
What we did
CallButler contacted the restaurant and learned that its holiday operating schedule had not yet been finalized, so reservations for that period were not being accepted. The team clarified that the schedule needed to be announced before the booking could proceed. It also checked the request for extra time: a three-hour stay might be possible if table availability allowed. CallButler relayed both answers, separating the timing of the reservation from the conditional request for a longer celebration.
Outcome
The customer understood that the restaurant needed to confirm its holiday schedule before accepting the reservation. They also knew how the restaurant would consider the request for extra time. The inquiry gave them a practical basis for planning the celebration around the venue’s holiday schedule.
