Request and challenge
A visitor planning a sightseeing trip to Nikko wanted a meal at Myogetsubo, a grill and steak restaurant in a former temple residence overlooking a garden. The setting was part of the appeal: they hoped for a window-side table where they could enjoy the view. Reservations for this visit could only be made by phone. They also wanted to arrange their meal choices in advance so the restaurant would know what to prepare. The request therefore brought together a table, a seating preference and the food they were looking forward to.
What we did
CallButler called Myogetsubo, explained the visitor’s preferred seating and discussed the menu they were interested in. The team communicated back and forth between the visitor and restaurant to coordinate the arrangements, carrying the seating and food preferences into the booking rather than treating it as a table reservation alone. CallButler passed on the relevant booking information and followed up to correct the name on the reservation record before arrival.
Outcome
When the visitor arrived, the restaurant knew what to expect. They were seated by the window as they had hoped, received a meal that met their expectations and had a smooth, enjoyable visit. The advance coordination helped bring the meal they had planned into their day of sightseeing.
