Request and challenge
A traveler wanted to make an overnight temple stay at Daishinin part of a future Kyoto trip. The accommodation sits within the Myoshinji precinct and handled reservations by telephone. Its next booking calendar had not yet been released, so the traveler could not secure a room when they first began planning. They needed to know when a reservation would become possible, whether the stay could be accommodated and what it would include before settling the arrangements.
What we did
CallButler made the initial inquiry and returned around the expected opening period. When the booking schedule was delayed again, the team continued following up until availability could be checked. It then established that meals were no longer being served, so the stay would be room-only. CallButler explained this change and obtained the traveler’s explicit agreement before confirming the reservation. The team also obtained the check-in, evening curfew and early luggage-drop information.
Outcome
The traveler secured the temple-stay reservation after the successive follow-ups. They knew that meals were not included and had the practical arrival details, including the option to leave luggage earlier in the day. A plan that could not be booked at the outset had become a confirmed room-only stay.
